Understand UK College or University refund policy

Students who wish to Study in UK had suffered with their tuition fees refund or money back after refusing UK student visa. I’ve got many of this kinda case where students contact with me after getting refused their visa by the UK High Commission or UK embassy.

I know you got refusal letter and then wants to get money back from college but college doesn’t response or deny to refund your tuition fees. In some cases they deduct a portion of fees and then refund rest of the money.

But before you (students) ask me how you’ll get back your deposit fees, I want to ask you a question. Did you checked your college/university refund policy before making payment?

Ans: 95% of the students doesn’t look or care at this institutes refund policy and when get rejected to entry in UK then they try to find it out how can they get back money.

No, this is not right. Its students duty to know or understand college/universities refund policy before making any payment. If you do, you don’t need to bother later.

Just have a look of a general REFUND policy of UK institutes (college or university). Its a sample of Tier 4 refund policy of UK educational institutes for international students.

Fees paid by the students are not refundable under normal circumstances. However if the student application has met all of the institutes criteria and the visa is still refused, the fees paid by the student will be refunded in full. PLEASE NOTE THAT FEES ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE. All refunds will be made only to the student or to the sponsor who has made payments on behalf of the student.

Now some suggestions for Students:

  • Always ask university or college for the refund policy
  • Read refund policy thoroughly and try to understand
  • Any confusion ask your representative or institutes
  • Make sure you do not pay until you see the refund policy and Agree with that conditions
  • Keep all the relevant documents in safe to claim back you fees if visa rejected

So this is it. If you read and understand college or university agreement properly then I hope you won’t face this kind of trouble later. Please share this post if you like it and join our Facebook conversation.

To be honest I didn’t get you.

Please read this article carefully to understand about Tuition fees refund policy system. By the mean time I guess its hard to get back your money if your visa rejected due to college suspension.

It has been 5 years chasing for a tuition refund from London College of Accountancy. Their refund policy is clear about students who have changed their mind about their college. Tuition is refunded less admin costs after the college get a confirmation from UKBA that no visa was applied for. Now UKBA require the school to write them but again LCA does not want to write the UKBA for confirmation. Interesting enought I am told there will be no response from any communication with the school. Where do I get help from?
