New Tier 4 student visa requirements policy

by admin on March 13, 2010

Tier 4 (General) student visa has been revised by the Uk Border Agency recently. If you want to study in Uk and get the visa you need 40 points as same as before.  But Tier 4 visa policy changed other way.

How the 40 points come?

  1. 30 points for your institute (University or college) and must be ‘A’ rated university or college.
  2. 10 points for maintenance funds (see details to New Uk Student Visa: Point Based system )

Latest changes in Tier 4 visa

  • New Tier 4 application fees is 199 GBP and inside Uk postal visa fees is 357 GBP (will be introduced from Tuesday 6 April 2010)
  • English language requirements has been changed. Minimum requirements is GCSE level
  • If you course under degree level you can’t work no more than 10 hours per week during term time.
  • If you are studying under degree course then your dependents will no longer be able to work (unless they qualify to work in their own right under Tier 1 or Tier 2 of the points-based system).

So this is the scenario of Tier 4 new policy. You can find more relatives info visiting Uk Border Agency website. According to Uk Border Agency latest Tier 4 update will be available in April 2010. This is just ridiculous. Day by day home office increasing their visa fees. Home office is planning to kill Non-EU students specially. They overcomes their recession period by giving huge visa to the third countries and bought foreign currency. Just this is it.

Dont run behind money. Run behind education. That is the main reason for changin Uk visa precedure and new Tier 4 PBS visa policy comes generally.

Hello Sir again
I an from Iran and 26 years old I got my Bechelor Degree from university of my country. and keen on improving my english language in London..
I recently read that tier 4 General students who come to study english languages can work up to 10 hour
It means that I just can work 10 hour a week and full time on holidays??
if I work 12 hours a week for instance they will cancel my visa ???
and can I apply from Atrusted Institite or I must apply highly trusted colleges only ???
thank so much for your help

Yes you can work not more than 10 hour’s if your course is not degree level (but who cares how much time you are working) But home office can find how much you are working.
If I speak honestly it depends on luck.

Better to apply at Highly Trusted sponsor list school or university

Any way thanks for the comments
