by S M Nazir Hossain on October 21, 2009

My dear friend Welcome to London. This post dedicates to my past horrible experience when I came first time in London. Many reader’s (from Pakistan, Sri lanka, India and Ghana) email to me and asked to post  ”what are the initial steps I mean after arrival in London what should I do“. Yes this is a very important question. Now I am going describe it step by step.

First Step: Make sure you have arranged a accommodation from your country for at least one week.

Second Step: Ask to your agent or friends for reciving you at airport. If you first time in London make sure again some one is coming to take way out.

Third Step: Contact with your University or College and order for a Bank recommendation letter, council tax paper, ID card and other’s important paper that you want.what to do now

Now take a  look mentioned steps again because its very important. Then buy a Oyester travel card from any nearest Tube station. As you are a new international student of course you have to travel different places and that’s why you need it. To know more details about London transport click here.

Making a bank account in London is very easy and tough as well.  Actually  it depends on different Bank. Basically new international students get to open a student account every bank then after 3 to 6 moths later you can upgrade your bank account. What the ask for making a bank account are listed below

  • Proof of Address (where do you live in or bank letter from your institute or a valid driving licence)
  • Your passport
  • A valid visa

Banking is essential for every international student I am giving some bank address here for your convenience, check it out for details
